Agnes Evalena Graham, the daughter of George and Ruby Goodwin Rhamy was born September 17, 1927 in Corning, Iowa. She died Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 83 years and 9 months. Agnes was raised in the Corning and Carbon area where she attended school with Johnny Carson. She was a graduate of Corning High School. Agnes was united in marriage to Marvin Francis Graham on July 28, 1948 in Clarinda, Iowa. They had lived in Villisca and Clarinda. In the late 1990's, Agnes made her home in Red Oak. She was a cook in many restaurants over the years. Agnes loved to play bingo and poker. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin on February 5, 1971; five children: Vicky Cozad, Marvin Duane Graham, Floyd Graham, Terry Graham and David Graham; two brothers: Darrell Rhamy and Jim Briggs; and four sisters: Wanda Dozier, Bertha Squires, Thelma Rhamy and Bonnie Telschow. Agnes is survived by five children: Merlyn Hale, Becky Whited, Jerry Graham, Dale Graham and wife Cherie all of Red Oak, IA and Evalena Gregory and husband Stan of Ft. Madison, IA; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Rhamy of California; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 20, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak Burial in Hawleyville Cemetery, Page County, Iowa Rev. David MacDonald, Officiating Visitation with the family present at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home on Sunday, June 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family.
