Agnes Barbara Jack, the daughter of Joseph H. and Mary L. (Schaub) Bruce was born December 27, 1918 at Greeley, Nebraska. She passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 95 years and 16 days. Agnes was raised in the Stennett, Iowa area and attended Stennett High School. Agnes was united in marriage to James C. Jack on March 2, l939 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived in Elliott, Iowa for two years before moving to Red Oak in 1941. Agnes was a homemaker and beautiful seamstress. For 15 years, she sewed for others. Agnes was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Red Oak and past member of Red Oak Eagles Lodge Auxiliary and REAC. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James on August 2, 1967; brothers: Leo and Glen Bruce; sister, Dorothy Martin; and grandson, Justin Abbey. Agnes is survived by two children: Kenneth Jack of Red Oak, IA and Karen (Richard) Abbey of Harrodsburg, KY; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters: Geraldine Clark of Red Oak, IA and Kathleen Pettinger of Burchard, NE; brothers: Gerald Bruce of Red Oak, IA and Bernard Bruce of Loveland, CO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Red Oak Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Father Tom Kunnel, Officiating No Visitation or Viewing will be held. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
