Evie Allean Souter, the daughter of Arthur A. and Ruth L. (Vick) Ault Sr. was born March 14, 1925 at Memphis, Tennessee. She passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 1 day. Allean was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She was united in marriage to Frank L. Souter on November 24, 1944 at Memphis, Tennessee. They made their home wherever Frank's 20 year naval career took them, from Oklahoma, Tennessee, Maryland and Texas, to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Following Frank's retirement from the Navy, they moved to a farm in Arkansas where they lived 6 years. Allean and Frank then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico making it their home for 29 years. While in Albuquerque, Allean worked 20 years for Gultons Industry, manufacturing electronics for the space shuttle. She eventually moved back to Memphis after Frank's death, and in December of 2007 moved to Red Oak. Allean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank on October 5, 1984; son, Michael; daughter, Sandra; brothers: Donnie and George Ault; and sisters: Ruth Ann Kellun and Eleanor Kelly. Allean is survived by her daughter, Vicki Howton and husband, Dale of Red Oak, IA; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Neva Ault of Belle Rose, LA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 5, 2015 at Red Oak Healthcare Community from 11:00 AM - 12:00 Noon Burial of cremated remains will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. A memorial is being established in Allean's name. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation services.
