Obituary

Barbara Kay Duckett, the daughter of Gerald A. and Hytha Kelley Kinnersley was born July 21, 1952 in Red Oak, Iowa. She died on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 55 years, 1 month and 4 days. Barbara lived all her life in Red Oak. She graduated from Red Oak High School in l970. Barbara was united in marriage to Clarence Duckett Sr. on January 31, 1971 in Red Oak. She was baptized at Nishna Church of Christ of Red Oak. Barbara worked the past 13 years with Red Oak Head Start as an associate teacher. She loved helping children, even taking them into her home for a safe place to stay. Barbara enjoyed many hobbies: shopping with her mother, walking, her childrens football games and just taking drives around town. She relaxed at times with trips to the casinos. Barbara collected hundreds of angels, which are displayed in their home. Barbara was preceded in death by her father: Gerald; brother: David Lee; grandmother: Hazel Morris and son-in-law: Kevin Rattenborg. Barbara is survived by husband: Clarence Duckett Sr. of Red Oak, IA; children: Sally Petersen and companion Kirk Bullington of Red Oak, IA; Tammy Duckett-Butterfield and husband Daniel of Johnston, IA; Clarence Duckett Jr. and companion Becky Dumler of Red Oak, IA; Kolton Duckett of Red Oak, IA; Kodie Duckett of Red Oak, IA; 5 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; mother: Hytha Kinnersley of Red Oak, IA; brothers: Gerald Kinnersley and wife Janice of Omaha, NE; Maynard Kinnersley and wife Pam of Gretna, NE; Daniel ?Danny? Kinnersley of Red Oak, IA; sisters: Martha Behrens of Red Oak, IA; Joyce Clark of Wilton, IA; Carrie Weston and husband Rick of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. At Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Rev. Derek Watt, Officiating Visitation with the family present at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, August 28 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Memorial is being established in Barbara?s name at Great Western Bank in Red Oak. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
