Obituary

Beatrice "Bea" Nigellia Larson, the daughter of Frank and Della Mae (Wood) Teicher was born January 18, 1911 at Wabasso, Minnesota. She passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 102 years, 3 months and 4 days. Throughout her childhood, Bea was raised in Wabasso, MN, Montana, and then Pine River, MN. She attended school at Pine River and then worked at the local grocery stores and area resort. Bea was united in marriage to Marshall R. Larson on November 3, 1940 at Pine River, MN. She and Marshall lived in Pine River until 1942, when they moved to a farm at Grand River, IA. In 1945, they moved to a farm south of Stanton, IA, then to Pillager, MN, and in 1947, returned to Pine River, MN, where she helped care for her sister. While in Pine River, Bea and Marshall owned and operated a gas station and restaurant. They sold their businesses in 1953 to purchase a dairy farm west of Pine River. Having fixed up their farm, they sold it and purchased a farm at Brooten, MN. In 1962, they sold their farm at Brooten after remodeling it and moved to be near family in Willmar, MN and then to Red Oak in 1969. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak. Bea was a great cook, having cooked for their farm workers for many years. She also enjoyed bowling and treasured her family dearly. Bea was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall on October 25, 1992; sister, Bernice Teicher; and granddaughter, Theresa Larson. Bea is survived by two sons: Richard Larson and wife Audrey of Red Oak, IA; and Marshall Larson Jr. of Foley, MN; 2 grandchildren: Laura Cross and husband Kyle of Red Oak, IA; and Tamera Sutton and husband Jeff of Red Oak, IA; 7 great-grandchildren: Kyra, Daniel, Mitchell, Brooke, Heather, Holly, and Trevor; and great-great-granddaughter, Haylee Nigella; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Red Oak, IA Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Fred Pilecki, Officiating Visitation with the family present on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Memorials to the First United Methodist Church Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
