Evelyn Berneice Freeburg, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Dorothy B. (Langley) Loving was born February 14, 1934 in Stennett Iowa. She passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 5 days.
Berneice was raised in the Stennett area and after high school worked for Union Carbide Battery Company. Berneice was united in marriage to Richard T. Freeburg on May 2, 1956 in Red Oak, Iowa. To this union six daughters were born. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed sharing her banana merengue pies at the annual Soup and Pie suppers for many years. Berneice was an avid Hot Wheels collector, she and Helen were always on the hunt for that super treasure. She enjoyed family gatherings where she was known to be the best cook. She was most famous for her fried chicken, homemade cinnamon rolls and her fabulous potato salad. She enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds, making Christmas ornaments, crocheting and making quilts, many of which were special for her grandchildren. She loved to go shopping and spending time with her sister, daughters and grandchildren.
Berneice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard on November 10, 2012; sisters, Dorothy Kleeman and Louella Loving and son-in-law, Sean Volquartsen.
Berneice Freeburg is survived by 6 daughters: Sue Freeburg and Miles Best of Ft. Collins, CO; Sandy and Steve Hansen of Atlantic, IA; Shelly and Chris Binns of Walnut, IA; Stacy Freeburg of North Liberty, IA; Silvia Freeburg and John Durkan of Omaha, NE; and Sonia and Mitch Kunze of Red Oak, IA; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Grove of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation and viewing with the family present on Thursday evening, December 22, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
Burial will be held later at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak.
