Billy Sie McFarland, the son of Clyde and Laura (Lewis) McFarland was born July 28, 1940, at Villisca, Iowa. He passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa, the age of 82 years and 18 days.

Bill was raised on a farm near Villisca and graduated from Villisca High School in 1957. He went to work at Hunt's Super Valu while he was in high school. He joined the Iowa Army National Guard, having served a full enlistment. On August 27, 1961, Bill was united in marriage to Judy L. Larson at the Stratton United Methodist Church. They made their home on the family farm northeast of Red Oak, where Bill dedicated his life to farming, even after they moved to Red Oak in 2003. Bill enjoyed riding on the pontoon boat, camping with the family, and traveling. He especially loved having the children, grandchildren and great-grandkids around. Bill was a member of the Stratton United Methodist Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy on December 26, 2019; and four sisters: Juanita, Bernice, Bonnie and Mary Jane.

Bill is survived by his three children: Leslie McFarland of Red Oak, IA, Teresa (Lon) Richardson of Fort Bridger, WY and Don McFarland of Red Oak, IA; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Axel (Bette) Larson of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
