Bonnie Jean Dickerson, the daughter of Clyde and Aleda (Edmunds) Dunlap, was born November 19, 1935, in Glenwood, Iowa. She passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 16 days.

Bonnie was raised in Emerson, Iowa, where she graduated in 1953, from Emerson High School. On April 4, 1953, Bonnie was united in marriage to Laverne "Speed" Dickerson in Atlantic, Iowa, and they made their home in Red Oak, Iowa. Over the years, Bonnie worked for Sellergren-Lindell Funeral Home, Houghton State Bank, and in the principal's office at Red Oak High School, before finding her true calling at the Red Oak Public Library. Bonnie was a beautiful pianist/organist and played the organ for the Baptist Church and the First Congregational Church, of which she was a member. Bonnie and Speed loved dancing and were graceful ballroom dancers along with enjoying square dancing. They shared their dancing talents by teaching dance lessons and won the 1986 Glenn Miller Dance Contest with their waltz. Bonnie also liked baking and cooking.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her; her parents; husband, Speed on April 26, 2002; and sisters: Arlene and Geraldine.

Bonnie is survived by her two daughters: Amy (Rick) Myers of Red Oak, IA, and Sara Welsch of Red Oak, IA; four grandchildren: several great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn.
