Brenda Lee Darrell, the daughter of Jerry and Carolyne (Powles) Darrell was born April 28, 1971 in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday August 29, 2015 at Lake Mills, Iowa, at the age of 44 years, 4 months and 1 day. Brenda was raised in Red Oak and graduated from Red Oak High School in 1989. Following graduation, she attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls and Iowa State University in Ames. Brenda lived most of her life in several north central Iowa communities. In 1992, she was blessed with her daughter, Kayla. Brenda worked as a certified welder. Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents; infant daughter, Sydney Alm, 1999; and nephew, Richard Darrell, Jr., 2008. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Kayla Rohlfsen and granddaughter, Paisley Brockman of Humboldt, IA; father and step-mother, Jerry and Jan Darrell of Red Oak, IA; mother, Carolyne Darrell of Red Oak, IA; brother, Richard Darrell of Red Oak, IA; step-sisters: Becky (Buford) Davis of Red Oak, IA; and Cindi (John) Sankey of Red Oak, IA; step-brother, Bill Jennum of Lewis, IA; uncle, Marvin (Jenny) Powles of Glenwood, IA; nieces and nephews: Patrick Darrell, Mathew Darrell, Sarah Darrell of Kirksville, MO; Mariah Lombard and Cody Darrell of Red Oak, IA; step-nieces and nephews: Triston and Jessa of Red Oak, IA; Lilly, Joey and Nick of Lewis, IA; long time friends, Anne Binns-Metheny of Newport News, VA; Angie Fisher-Kinser of West Des Moines, IA; and Erin Franklin of Georgia; aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. A memorial is being established in Brenda's name. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
