Brooke Whitney Engstrand, the daughter of Eddie O. and Vicki L. (Mather) Engstrand was born May 15, 1989 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at her home in North Hollywood, California at the age of 23 years, 7 months and 25 days. Brooke was raised in Stanton, Iowa. While in school, Brooke participated in basketball, track, softball, band and FFA serving as president of their chapter. She was active in 4-H showing her much loved horses and winning many 4-H awards. Brooke participated on horse judging teams at the local and state level, and even selected to judge a national event in Ohio. She graduated with the Stanton High School Class of 2008. Brooke furthered her education at Conservatory Of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. She completed internships in Los Angeles, California before graduation. Following graduation, Brooke went to work for Wild Woods Production and most recently, was a Product Support Technician at Blue Microphones in Westlake Village, California. She loved attending comedy clubs, even performing her own three minute gig on stage. Brooke was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton and attended Bel Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, California. Brooke was preceded in death by her grandparents: Harry Orland Engstrand; and Erwin and Marie Mather. Brooke is survived by her parents: Eddie and Vicki Engstrand of Stanton, IA; sister, Heather Vencil and husband Evan of Windsor Heights, IA; and grandmother, Phyllis Engstrand of Clarinda, IA; aunts and uncles: Karen (Bob) Hackett of Burlington Junction, MO; Galen (Claire) Mather of Byers, CO; Aaron (Tara) Mather of Plainview, TX; Mark (Sara) Engstrand of Clarinda, IA; Eric Engstrand of Braddyville, IA; and Rex (Brenda) Engstrand of Cumming, IA; along with other relatives and many friends.
