Bryce Edward Jipsen, the son of Dwaine and Ada Bird Jipsen was born September 5, 1964 in Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 in Mills County, Iowa near Hastings due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident at the age of 46 years and 5 days. Bryce grew up on a farm near Wales, Iowa and graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1983. While in school, Bryce played sports and was a superb wrestler, holding the fastest pin record for many years. After high school, Bryce worked on the family farm and for R.K. Belt & Son. He had worked for Murphy Brothers as a heavy equipment operator. On September 14, 1996 Bryce was united in marriage to Patti Conover at Wales, IA. He was currently working at InfraSource Construction specializing in underground construction and distribution of gas pipelines. Bryce enjoyed playing men's slow pitch softball in Red Oak for the Wales and Rainbow teams, and coed softball, along with Red Oak league men's and coed volleyball. His true passion was loving his wife, children and riding his Harley. Bryce was a member of the Wales Presbyterian Church. Bryce was preceded in death by his father, Dwaine Jipsen; niece and nephew: Jared and Nicole Jipsen; grandparents; mother and father-in-law: James and Patricia Hays. Bryce is survived by wife, Patti Jipsen of Red Oak, IA; children: Macayla and Dalton Jipsen of the home; Mike Parsley and wife Kayla of Ashmore, IL; and Mark Parsley and wife Chrystal of Red Oak, IA; mother, Ada Jipsen of Red Oak, IA; brothers: Gary Jipsen and wife of Red Oak, IA; and Kenneth Jipsen of Emerson, IA; sister, Jody Parris and husband of Emerson, IA; Margene Jipsen of Red Oak, IA; Shirley Straight of Emerson, IA; one very special best friend, Billy Hardy; five grandchildren: Ashley, Maisie, Madyson and Deegan Parsley and Elsie Parsley; brothers and sisters-in-law of Red Oak, IA and Charleston, IL; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Bryce touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday September 15 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Cremation to follow. Memorials may be directed to the family.
