Carolyn Sue Simon, the daughter of Dwight and Velma (Jordon) Campbell, was born July 15, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away on January 9, 2026, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 25 days.

Carolyn was born and raised in Des Moines, where she graduated from Roosevelt High School, and attended Drake University. Carolyn was united in marriage to Fred Simon and together they made their home in Des Moines. Carolyn enjoyed a lifelong interest in antiques. She spent many years attending antique shows and working with the owners of Bazaar Americana in Valley Junction in Des Moines. She especially loved going on road trips in search of antique treasures. In her spare time, Carolyn liked making needlework and cross stitch projects, sewing, and reading. Her creativity and attention to detail were reflected in everything she made. Carolyn was a past member of the Iowa Paralyzed Veterans Association. In 2020, Carolyn moved to Red Oak to be closer to her daughter, and in December of 2021, made her home in Stanton, Iowa. Carolyn will be remembered for her kind spirit, love of crafts and antiques, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughter, Teri McCartney and husband, Kevin of Red Oak, IA; 2 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Final resting place will be in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter Township, Iowa.
