Chad Edward Hambright, the son of Jim and Beverly Forney Hambright, was born June 9, 1986 in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008 in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 22 years, 1 month and 15 days. In October of 1992 and at the age of 5, Chad and his family moved to Red Oak after having lived in the Glenwood and Malvern areas. He attended kindergarten thru his senior year at the Red Oak Community Schools, graduating from ROHS in 2005. While in school Chad participated in basketball, football, cross country, track and band, and was a great team player. He attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. Chad was currently working for Precision Diesel in Red Oak as a diesel mechanic. He had enrolled at Iowa Western Community College for classes this fall. Chad loved to ski and snowboard and always had fun on the many family trips to Colorado. He enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles and attending Dylan's basketball games and track meets. Chad loved spending time with family, cousins and all his friends. Chad loved to have a good time and had a contagious smile. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and had previously been involved with the youth group. Chad was preceded in death by his grandfather, Terry Forney. Chad is survived by his parents, Jim and Bev Hambright of Red Oak, IA; brother, Dylan Hambright of Red Oak, IA; grandparents: Sharon and Jon Gustafson of Red Oak, IA; and Tom and Ellen Raye Winchester of Malvern, IA; aunt and uncle, Barb and Calvin Cheney of Malvern, IA; cousins: Paul Pontow, Daniel Pontow, Victoria Pontow, Wyatt Cheney all of Malvern, IA; great-aunts and uncles: Marsha and Fred Butler of Kinta, OK; Elizabeth Hestily of Greenville, SC; Larry and Mary Miller of Martinez, CA; Lonnie and Marilyn Miller of Cadiz, KY; Pat and Ed Larson of Harrisonville, MO; Ron and Delores Forney of De Kalb, IL; and Augusta B. Winchester of Carabell, FL; great-grandmother, Dorothy Miller of Farragut, IA, along with other relatives and many friends. May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Red Oak Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev Caryn Pedersen, Officiating Visitation with the family present at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon, July 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A memorial is being established in Chad's name. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
