Cherie Kay Graham, the daughter of Francis and Myrna (Govig) Penry was born October 22, 1968, in Iowa City, Iowa. She passed away on December 19, 2022, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 54 years, 1 month and 28 days.

Cherie attended schools in Essex and Shenandoah, before graduating from Red Oak High School in 1987. While in school, she participated in Special Olympics for several years. On July 25, 1992, Cherie was united in marriage to Dale John Graham in Red Oak. They lived in several communities in Iowa before settling back to Red Oak. The past number of years, Cherie lived in Omaha. Cherie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Graham on December 31, 2012; and two brothers: Eldon and Darwin.

Cherie is survived by her sister, Carolyn (George) Lombard of Red Oak, IA; niece, Heather (John) Lyons of Blair, NE; nephew, Chris Lombard of Red Oak, IA; great-nephew, Cody Lyons of Blair, NE; her best friend of 30 plus years, Patty Grace of Red Oak, IA; and companion, Darren Rahn of Omaha, NE; other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Senior Center, 2700 N 4th Street, Red Oak, Iowa, on Saturday, December 31, 2022, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Cremation has taken place and burial in Hawleyville Cemetery, Page County, Iowa, will be held at a later date.
