Christina Marie Ward Turnbull, the daughter of Howard Sr. and Dorothy (Smith) Ward was born May 30, 1959 at Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Hospice with Heart, Glenwood, Iowa at the age of 56 years, 2 months and 23 days. Christina grew up in Essex and graduated from Essex High School with the class of 1977. After graduation, Christina attended college at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs where she obtained a Paralegal degree as well as a certificate in Culinary Arts. Christina worked at Peters Law Firm in Council Bluffs for five years before moving her family to Red Oak. In Red Oak, Christina started at CDS when the company opened its doors and worked there for 22 years, becoming a supervisor. Christina also worked part time at JII. After retirement, Christina enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, as well as her friends. She loved to read, cook and take long drives to see the scenery. She was a member of Faith Community Church. Christina was preceded in death by her parents. Christina is survived by her daughter, Alicia Myers and husband Ron of Red Oak, IA; son, Scott Turnbull and wife Patricia of Red Oak, IA; mother, Barb Ward of Grant, IA; two brothers: Scott Ward and significant other Lana Hoover of Columbus, NE; and Howard Ward Jr. and wife Laura of Essex, IA; eight grandchildren: Savannah, Nicholas, Daniel, Owen, Cadence, Riley, Michael and Christopher; nieces and nephews; aunt, Sharon Brown of Shenandoah, IA; uncle, Leroy Smith of Tallahassee, FL; other relatives and a host of friends.
