Obituary

Christopher Burton Scott, the son of Richard B. and Geraldene ((Demanett) Scott was born October 16, 1964 at Clarinda, Iowa. He passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 52 years, 2 months and 26 days.
Christopher was raised in Stanton and then New Market, Iowa, attending high school at New Market. He entered the U.S. Army on November 15, 1983, serving in Desert Storm. Christopher was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant on March 13, 1992. He returned to the Stanton area and worked at ROMECH until its closing. Christopher then worked for Schildberg Rock Quarry and Pinks Construction Company. Most recently, he drove a truck for a contracting company picking up the US Mail at post offices.
Christopher was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldene Scott.
Christopher is survived by three sons: Christopher B. Scott Jr., Daniel J. Scott and Brandon M. Scott; father, Richard B. Scott of Stanton, IA; three sisters: Cynthia (Michael) Shough of Labelle, FL, Denise (Kevin) Johnson Shambaugh, IA, and Kimberly (Travis) Keoppel of Adair, IA; brother, Kenneth (Kim) Scott of Skidmore, MO; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, along with other relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at his father's home, 5l5 Harvard Ave, Stanton, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
