Obituary

Christy Diane Fine, the daughter of Kenneth and Jean (Stephens) Fine was born June 8, 1959 at Maryville, Missouri. She passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 55 years, 4 months and 26 days. Christy was raised in Red Oak. She graduated with the Red Oak High School class of 1977. While in high school, Christy worked at the Sew "n" Sew fabric shop. Christy continued her education at Iowa Western Community College at Council Bluffs, Iowa receiving an Associate's Degree in Accounting. Making her home back in Red Oak, Christy worked for Houghton State Bank and later CDS, until its closing. For the past several years, she was a team member at Pudgy Pumpkin Patch Gift Shop. She was a detail orientated person who always greeted customers with a welcoming smile. Christy designed and sewed her own line of homemade purses called 'Thumper Creations', which she sold at many craft shows. Christy enjoyed time spent with her dog, Casey, and her friends and family. She especially enjoyed swimming at her sister's pool with her great-nephews and growing flowers. She was a past Worthy Advisor for Rainbow Girls and past president of Red Oak Altrusa. Christy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Fine and step-father, Russell Snodgrass. Christy is survived by her mother, Jean Snodgrass of Red Oak, IA; brother, Michael Fine and wife Monica of Red Oak, IA; sister, Kathryn Sattro and husband Michael of Red Oak, IA; niece, Sumer Sandholm and husband Brett of Red Oak, IA; great-nephews: Chase and Kyler Sandholm of Red Oak, IA; uncle, David Stephens of Omaha, NE; other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Rev. Caryn Pedersen, Officiating Visitation with the family will follow the service at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home. Memorials to Red Oak Fire & Rescue Association. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
