Clifford Arthur Lantz, the son of Arthur E. and Hazel E. Lindquist Lantz, was born August 27, 1926 in Stanton, Iowa. He passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Mercy Hospital, Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 83 years and 12 days. Clifford was raised and attended school in Stanton, Iowa. He began farming and then during WWII, entered the U. S. Army. After his discharge, he returned to Stanton to farm. Clifford was united in marriage to Marjorie L. Michael on December 10, 1948 in Stanton, Iowa. Clifford's life work was farming and raising livestock. He was a great steward of the land. Clifford was generous and always had time to help his neighbors and friends. He enjoyed sharing stories and drinking coffee with friends. Clifford was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church, having served as a past board member and Sunday School assistant superintendent. He was a member of the American Legion Ernie Johnson Post #406 of Stanton, Iowa. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Merrill Lantz. Clifford is survived by his wife, Marjorie L. Lantz of Stanton, IA; daughter, Jacque Petersen of Omaha, NE; and son, Douglas Lantz and wife Glenda of Dumas, TX; 5 grandchildren: Ali Petersen, Tess Petersen, Jared Lantz and wife Jana, Jacob Lantz and Richelle Lantz; brother, Donald Lantz and wife Carolyn of Stanton, IA; sister, Helen Beason and husband Dr. Ralph of Los Angeles, CA; sisters-in-law: Mrs. Alice Lantz of Stanton, IA; and Carol Zoucha of Petersburg, NE; brother-in-law, Harlan Michael and wife Carol of Temple City, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Stanton, IA Burial in Mamre Cemetery Rev.
