Danny Paul Wilkins, the son of Edgar and Meta (Hormann) Wilkins was born November 18, 1950 at Streator, Illinois. He passed away suddenly at the Nebraska Medicine Center, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 12 days. Danny was raised in the St. Louis area and attended Southern Illinois University, graduating with a Mechanical Design degree. He moved to Red Oak in 1981 and worked for All Makes Battery for 3 years, and then in maintenance for Vista Gardens Care Center. Danny was united in marriage to Gloria Marie Brown on April 4, 1985 at St. Louis, Missouri. They moved to St. Louis in 1986, and Danny was employed at Leonard's Metals. Danny and Marie moved back to Red Oak in 2003. Danny worked for FRESCO from 2005, until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, watching movies and collecting bald eagles statues. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Virginia Maude Wilkins; and sister, Evelyn Carroll. Danny is survived by his wife, Marie Wilkins of Red Oak, IA; step-children: Debbie (John) Blay of Red Oak, IA; Kathy (Kevin) West of Mebane, NC; and David (Linda) Brown of Wellington, KS; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers: Ed (Barb) Wilkins of Red Oak, IA; David Wilkins of St Louis, MO; and Richard Wilkins of St Louis, MO; sisters: Sandy (JC) Thompson of St Louis, MO; and Linda (Wayne) Mussehl of Calabash, NC; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Visitation with the family present on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home A memorial is being established in Danny's name.
