Obituary

Darlene Mae Nease, the daughter of Harry and Leona Smalley Wren, was born May 22, 1934 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 23 days.

Darlene was raised in the Shenandoah area and was a graduate of Shenandoah High School. In the early 1950's she moved to Red Oak. Darlene began working for the Union Carbide Battery Company in l963, and after 28 years of service retired in l991. Following retirement, she provided home daycare for 10 years. Later, she worked at Harrah's Casino for five years as a telephone operator. When her children were young she enjoyed camping, fishing and water skiing with them. During her retirement years, she enjoyed taking trips to the casino with family and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Marcia Ann Nease in l969.

Darlene is survived by son, Rick Nease and wife Luanne of Red Oak, IA; daughter, Diana Nease of Red Oak, IA; two grandchildren: Amy Nease and Holly Nease and fiance Jeremy Anderson of Red Oak, IA; brother, Robert Stoneburner of California; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 22, 2010
at 2:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak.
Rev. Dr. George Hooper, Officiating

Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers and may be directed to the family.
