Obituary

Daryl Lee Kruse, the son of Leonard W. and Evelyn P. (Jennings) Kruse, was born August 11, 1951, at Ute, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at his farm in rural Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 29 days.

Daryl was raised in the Ute area. In 1951, he was baptized into the Christian faith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ute. Daryl attended grade school in Soldier, Iowa, and participated in 4-H growing up. He attended junior high and high school at Charter-Oak-Ute High School, graduating in 1969. Daryl then attended Iowa State University where he graduated in 1973, with a degree in Animal Husbandry, and moved to Red Oak, Iowa. He worked for Southwest Farm Business Association for over 40 years. In 1977, he began farming and was still currently farming his own land. Daryl was a past member of the Montgomery County Fair Board and was recently inducted into the Montgomery County Fair Board Hall of Fame. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Villisca, Iowa, where he was quite active. Daryl enjoyed hunting and fishing, having taken many special trips to do so. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Daryl is survived by his two daughters: Andrea (Ron) Rideout of Tallahassee, FL and Lindsey Kruse of Creston, IA; grandchildren: Cooper Rideout, Jackson Rideout and Karlie Kruse; brother, William (Kathleen) Kruse of Underwood, IA; sister, Anna Mae (Pastor Paul) Warnier of Alcester, SD; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Vicki Cobb; other relatives and friends.

At Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Villisca, Iowa

Burial on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, IA.

Visitation with the family on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak, IA

Family request memorials in lieu of flowers to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church or Montgomery County Fair.
