Obituary

David Duane Sink, the son of Millard H. and Phyllis A. (Westlake) Sink was born February 15, 1960 at Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Immanuel Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 54 years, 6 months and 15 days. Dave was raised in Corning and graduated from Corning High School in l978. He attended Lincoln Tech Institute in Des Moines, Iowa for auto and diesel mechanics. Following the completion at LTI, he worked for a service station back home in Corning. Dave was united in marriage to Joan A. "Joanie" Scott on August 7, 1982 in Corning. Dave began a 23 year career in 1983, with D&L, later ROMECH in Red Oak. In 1990, David and Joanie made their home in Stanton. In January of 2008, Dave began working for David and Cathy Hart of Hart Farms. He was a devoted and hard working employee all his life. He was a devoted husband, very proud of his children's accomplishments and an Iowa State Cyclone fan. Dave was an avid race car fan and enjoyed helping his boys with their cars and racing careers. Dave enjoyed all sports, and especially loved supporting his children with their many sporting events and activities. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stanton. Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Phil Sink. Dave is survived by his wife, Joanie Sink of Stanton, IA; three children: Josh Sink and girlfriend Sadie Day of Stanton, IA, Brett Sink and fiancée Ashley Zimmerman of Slater, IA, Rochelle "Roey" Sink and boyfriend Andrew Cerven of Stanton, IA; parents, Millard and Phyllis Sink of Corning, IA; brothers: Gary (Kathy) Sink of St. Mary's, IA and Rob (Timmie) Sink of Corning, IA; sisters: Patsy Long of Corning, IA and Katherine (Larry) Gaunt of Villisca, IA; mother-in-law, Elaine Scott of Atlantic, IA; brother-in-laws: Craig Scott of Wisconsin and Gary Scott of Atlantic, IA; sister-in-laws: Amy Barrett of Ames, IA and Gail Moulton of Arizona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Stanton, IA Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA Rev. Matt King, Officiating Visitation on Wednesday evening at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Family requests memorials to the David Sink Memorial in lieu of flowers. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
