Delbert Forsyth Jenkins, the son of John L. and Abbie (Forsyth) Jenkins was born March 14, 1921 south of Griswold in Cass County, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Red Oak Healthcare Community, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 97 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Delbert was raised in the Griswold area and graduated from Griswold High School. He ran a milk route before moving to a farm south of Griswold, to farm. Delbert was united in marriage to Margie M. Rush on October 31, 1942 at Maryville, Missouri, and she made Delbert's home, their home. Delbert loved farming and his John Deere tractors. He restored a 1951 John Deere B, which is still in the family today. Delbert also enjoyed studying the stock market and ways of investments to help in their retirement years.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie on February 1, 2016; daughter and husband, Carol and Bob Hunt; brothers: J.L. Jenkins and Eldon Jenkins; and sister, Annette Jenkins.
Delbert is survived by his nieces and nephews.
