Obituary

Delilah Jo Nelson, the daughter of Joseph Nelson and Derek Barbour was born September 19, 2016 in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 1 month and 12 days.

Delilah was a good natured little girl and brought much joy to her family. She was preceded in death by great-grandparents: Donna Nelson, Jerome Prokes Sr., Matilda Barbour and Jimmie Dykes; grandfather, Richard Barbour; and cousin, Christopher Nuckolls.


Delilah is survived by her parents, Joseph Nelson and Derek Barbour of Red Oak, IA; brother, Gunner Nelson of the home; paternal grandparents: Dwight Nelson Jr. of Nyman, IA and Dawn Nelson of Red Oak, IA; maternal grandparent, Cheryl Dykes of Red Oak, IA; great-grandparents: Dwight Nelson Sr. of Nyman, IA, Norma Jean Mullenix of Red Oak, IA and Beulah Dykes of Red Oak, IA; aunts and uncles: Jennifer Nelson and Ryan Miller, Jeremy Nelson, Ami (Mark) Galvan, Jesse Dykes and Jack Kalkowski, Cody (Marie) Dykes, Nick (Amy) Vargas, Jake (Chloe) Vargas; great-aunts and uncles: Mary (Rick) Auten,  Karen (Tom Mahr) Nelson, Jackie Johnson and Pat Jones, John (Carol) Johnson, Jerome Prokes Jr., Ronda (Marvin) Tippery, Ruth (Gary) Trudgeon, Teresa (Dennis) Hester, Bud (Terry) Dykes, Kathy (Steve) Newell, Jimmie Marie (Monty Most) Dykes, Wilma Dykes and  Roger (Julie) Dykes; cousins: Brayden Johnson, Caydence Johnson, Royal Miller, Jaykob and Lilly Nelson, Dustin and Becky Nuckolls, Ashlee Nuckolls, Emma Macey, Griffin and Pierson Nuckolls, Aaron and Nicholas Mahr, Jace and Anthony Galvan, Ellie, Brody and Eddy Dykes, Karsyn and Kymbrie Vargas, Zander and Charlie Vargas.

Graveside service will be held
Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
At Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa
Family and friends may gather at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home for procession to the cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
A memorial is being established in Delilah's name.
