Diane Lynn Briggs, the daughter of Richard L. and Mary L. (Woodin) Blackburn was born April 20, 1964, in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Nebraska Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska, the age of 57 years, 8 months and 20 days.
Diane was raised in Red Oak, where she graduated with the Red Oak High School class of 1982. On April 23, 1983, Diane was united in marriage to Ted Briggs in Red Oak, Iowa. Diane worked 16 years with CDS. She enjoyed making crafts and going to garage sales. Diane loved watching her grandchildren, Denver and Regan every day. They were her inspiration to keep on fighting her cancer. Diane was a selfless woman who put family and friends first in her life. She loved helping them however she could and driving them to appointments.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Blackburn; granddaughter, Maddison Jo Belt; and brother-in-law, Terry Briggs.
Diane is survived by her husband, Ted Briggs of Red Oak, IA; daughter, Jessica Briggs of Red Oak, IA; two grandchildren: Denver Belt and Regan Mattingly; father, Richard L. Blackburn of Red Oak, IA; brothers: Terry (Karen) Blackburn of Lincoln, NE and Rick Blackburn of Red Oak, IA; sister, Cheryl (Scott) Marsden of Papillion, NE; brother-in-law, Tim Briggs of Colorado; and sisters-in-law: Tracy (Mark) Adams of Stanton, IA and Kris (Larry) Becker of Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Service will be held
Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
At Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa
Family and friends will meet at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. for procession to the cemetery.
The graveside service will be live-streamed on the Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Facebook page.
Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
