Obituary

Dolores Maxine "Dee" Jackson, the daughter of Lloyd and Erma (King) Goodvin was born March 29, 1931, at Corning, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Accura Healthcare of Stanton, Stanton, Iowa, at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 5 days.

Dee was raised in the Carbon, Iowa area and graduated from Corning High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Ronald P. Jackson on December 24, 1948, in Villisca, Iowa. Dee and Ron farmed in the Carbon area before moving to Red Oak in 1957. They then moved to Nebraska and lived there for many years, before returning to a farm north of Villisca, in 1974. In 1983, they purchased the Circle J Motel and Café in Villisca. You could always find Dee in the kitchen preparing and serving excellent food. In 1990, they sold their business and began enjoying retirement. Dee and Ron loved to travel and spend time with their family. In 2007, Dee moved to Red Oak. She loved to write songs and work on genealogy. While living in Villisca, Dee was an active member of the Villisca Methodist Church, and while living in Red Oak, she was an active member of the First Covenant Church, Red Oak.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald on December 24, 2002; son, Gary Jackson; grandsons: Curtis Jackson and Justin Jackson; granddaughter, Joey Jackson; great-grandson, Justus Jackson; brother, Bud Goodvin and daughter-in-law, Debra Jackson.

Dolores is survived by seven children: Jim Jackson and life partner, Walker Novak of Cathedral City, CA; Ray (Stephanie) Jackson of Climax Springs, MO; Debra Haffner and significant other, Flynn Tolbert of Billings, MT; David (Sonia) Jackson of Red Oak, IA; Kris (Patricia) Jackson of Reeds Springs, MO; Kent (Rosie) Jackson of Fayetteville, GA and Patrick Jackson of Franklin, TN; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation and Viewing will be on Wednesday morning August 10, 2022 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at

Arlington Cemetery, northwest of Villisca, Iowa
