Donald Otis Allen, son of Robert M. & Verna Mae (Timmons) Allen was born September 8, 1930 at Emerson, Iowa and entered rest Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Accura Healthcare in Stanton, Iowa at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 12 days.

Donald was raised south of Red Oak in the Climax area and attended Coburg school, then moved to Red Oak and graduated in 1949. Donald worked at Farmers Mercantile, Wilson Mosai, and retired from Parker Hannifin after 17 years. He enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard in 1948 and honorably retired as Master Sergeant in 1982. Don was married to the love of his life Joan C. Eubanks on December 12, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. To this union four children were blessed, Robin Lee, Roxie Dean, Ryan Lynn, and Richard Eugene. Don always taught his children responsibility and respect. He enjoyed his coffee group, YMCA, prayer group, Bible Study, working on toy tractors, collecting antiques, going to flea markets, gardening and growing celebrity tomatoes, coon hunting (well most hunting), and loved his family. Don looked forward to all the family reunions and storytelling. He was known for a good sense of humor, praying that his family and friends find their path to the Lord Jesus Christ. His caring nature, quirky smile and love will be missed. Don was an active member of Faith Community Church, being involved with the Prime Timers group. He was an avid New York Yankees baseball fan. Special thank you to Aimee Allen and George Fisher for the precious time, love and commitment caring for Don.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Joan on July 3, 2011; children: Ryan Lynn, Robin Lee, and Roxie Dean; brothers: Robert, Charles, Carol, Kenneth; and sisters: Bertha Mae, Helen and Ruth.

Don is survived by son, Richard Allen and wife Iona of Corning, IA, daughter in-law, Aimee Allen of Red Oak, IA; 7 grandchildren: Roni (Chris) Hargis, Dawn (Chris) Klamert, Gina (Ron) Spencer, Aaron Allen, Ryan Allen, Ronda Allen, Trenton Tranbarger, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
