Donald Wayne Gray, the son of John and Dorothy Burke Gray was born August 9, 1950 in Somers Point, New Jersey. He died on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 3 days. Donald was born in Somers Point, New Jersey, but at a young age the family moved to Plattsmouth, Nebraska and this is where he grew up. He entered the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam with two tours of duty. After his military service, Donald began his career in the construction business. On August 9, 1982, Donald was united in marriage to Sandra Hopkinson. They lived in the Glenwood and Creston areas. In 1989, Donald and Sandra made their home in the Red Oak area. Donald's family was his pride and joy, teaching Angie the proper way to handle, shoot and clean a gun. He treasured time spent with the grandkids. Donald enjoyed listening to country music and watching old movies and WWF Wrestling. Several hobbies that kept him busy included motorcycles and the body work repair and painting of old cars. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Gray. Donald is survived by wife: Sandra Gray of Coburg, IA; daughters: Angela 'Angie' Uhlmann and husband Jim, Jr. of Red Oak, IA; Teresa Liford and companion Jacob of Red Oak, IA; sons: Jack Liford and companion Laurie of Council Bluffs, IA; Mike Liford and wife Tammy of Red Oak, IA and Charles Liford of Algona, IA; brothers: Lloyd Gray and wife Bev of IA; Gary Gray and wife Linda of Silver City, IA; Roy Gray and wife Pam of Plattsmouth, NE; Martin Gray and wife Carol of Plattsmouth, NE; and Charles Gray and wife Diane of Wichita, KS; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
