Obituary

Dwight Johnnie Vought, the son of Dorothy Crain was born July 22, 1947 at Tylertown, Mississippi. He passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his home in Stanton, Iowa at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 7 days.

Dwight in his younger years lived on a farm with his grandparents, Shaird and Elizabeth Crain. He attended school in Franklinton, Louisiana. He moved to New Orleans, Louisiana when he was nine years old to live with his mon and stepdad, Anthony J. Wiltz Sr. Dwight met his soul mate, Linda Susan Phillis in May of 1971 and they were united in marriage on January 1, 1972. To this union four children were born: Sandra, Timothy, Kimberly and Roxanne. Dwight and Linda moved to Villisca, Iowa in 1987 and to Stanton, Iowa in 1989.

Dwight will be remembered for the love of his wife, four children, 8 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. His funny stories and counseling others with alcohol addiction, especially those who were incarcerated, for which he received acknowledgement by the Iowa Governor will always be special. He was intrigued with electronic devices and shortwave radios.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Darrell Wiltz and Anthony Wiltz Jr.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Linda Vought of Stanton, IA; four children: Sandra Vought of Stanton, IA, Timothy Vought of Carroll, IA, Kimberly Vought of Clearwater, FL and Roxanne Vought of Sidney, IA; 8 grandchildren, a great-grandchild; and nephew, Buddy (Danita) Wiltz, other nieces, nephews and cousins.

May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn.
