Eathel Mae Reed's Obituary
Eathel Mae Reed, the daughter Lewis and Olga Reed was born June 24, 1935 in Kirksville, Missouri. She died on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 7 days.
Eathel was raised in Kirksville, MO. She was united in marriage to Paul Richards Sr. in l953 at Kirksville, MO. They lived four years at Kirksville, before moving to Council Bluffs, IA. Eathel was later united in marriage to Ernest Birt in l978 in Council Bluffs, IA. Eathel and her children moved to Red Oak, IA in 1984. In Eathel's earlier years, she worked as an L.P.N. She enjoyed bird watching, crossword puzzles and playing bingo. Eathel set aside time in the day for watching soap operas on TV. She loved spending time with her family and attending big family events.
Eathel was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands: Paul Richards Sr. and Ernest Birt; two sons: Lewis Richards and Paul L. Richards Jr.; 3 granddaughters: Alivia Reed, April Welch and Debra Richards; 12 brothers and sisters.
Eathel is survived by her children: Flora Welch and Rodney Lukehart of Red Oak, IA; Betty and Carl Wiechmann of Gravity, IA; Kenneth Richards of Red Oak, IA; Ronald Richards of Red Oak, IA; Ruth Richards Peterson of Red Oak, IA; Tammy Richards of Red Oak, IA; Terri Richards and Sean Elston of Red Oak, IA; Donald and Ann Reed of Red Oak, IA; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak

Visitation with the family present at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
