Obituary

Enriqueta Cuellar Ramirez, the daughter of Luis and Eufemia (Maldonado) Cuellar was born July 15, 1934, at Del Rio, Texas. She passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 16 days.

Enriqueta lived in Del Rio until the age of 20, when she moved to San Jose, California. On December 6, 1953, Enriqueta was united in marriage to Flavio Ramirez, Sr., in Del Rio, Texas. Enriqueta was a very hard worker. Over her career, she worked at a movie theater and a cannery. She also became an operator with ATT, sold real estate, figured private income taxes for others and was a notary. She enjoyed gardening, painting, shopping, working puzzles and taking trips to the casinos. Enriqueta particularly treasured all the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She was a wonderful and active mother and grandmother, just waiting until the next get-together filled with fun and food. Enriqueta moved to Red Oak in June of 2021, to live with her daughter, Rebecca and husband, Steven White.

Enriqueta was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Flavio Ramirez, Sr., on August 12, 1983.

Enriqueta is survived by three children: Rebecca Ramirez (Steven) White of Red Oak, IA, Flavio (Teresa) Ramirez, Jr. of San Jose, CA and Virginia "Genie" Butcher of Loveland, CO; nine grandchildren: Randy Victor Pasquinelli, Michelle Rae Johnson, Elysia Tylene White, Lindsay Rebecca White, Gabriel Flavio Ramirez, Raquel Desirae Ramirez, Miguel Romo, Joshua Brian Butcher and Breahna Cheyenne Butcher; fourteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and siblings: Richard Cuellar, Dolores Guzman, David Cuellar, Romelia Cuellar and Leticia Miller; other relatives and friends.

May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn.
