Faye Ellen Parker, the daughter of Hiram and Elizabeth (Myers) Wharff was born February 15, 1921 in Montgomery County, Iowa near Hawthorne. She passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Stone County Nursing & Rehab Center, Mountain View, Arkansas at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 27 days. Faye was raised near Emerson, Iowa, graduating from Emerson High School in l939. She worked at the Bon Ton Cleaners and the Green Parrott in Red Oak. Faye was united in marriage to Elmer R. Parker on November 10, 1940 at Rockport, Missouri. They moved to La Puente, California after Elmer's military service in l945. They later lived at Baldwin Park, California for many years. Faye worked for Mattel Toy Company as an inspector and tester from 1964 until her retirement in l987. Faye and Elmer spent some retirement years at Menifee, California. In 1997, Faye and Elmer moved to Mountain View, Arkansas to be near their daughters. She was a member of the Mountain View First United Methodist Church. Faye was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters: Alyce Boyer, Edna Berggren, Bernice Turner, Arlene Smith and Louise Smith; and brother, Glen Wharff. Faye is survived by her husband of 73 years, Elmer R. Parker of Mountain View, Arkansas; daughters: Karen (William) Hodo and Janice (Randy) Gwin both of Mountain View, Arkansas; step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa Rev.
