Obituary

Frances Irene Tucker Johnson, the daughter of Frank and Esther Mitchel Perkins, was born October 4, 1913 in Garfield Township of Montgomery County, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 96 years and 20 days. Frances was raised on the family farm near Red Oak. She attended school in Red Oak and graduated from Red Oak High School with the class of 1932. Following graduation, Frances worked at Connor's, Inc. On November 8, 1945 Frances was united in marriage to Raymond H. Tucker at her home near Red Oak. For 33 years, Frances and Raymond made their home on their farm west of Coburg, Iowa. In 1977, they moved into Red Oak. Raymond passed away on December 27, 1991. Frances later married Clarence Johnson on October 13, 1993. Clarence passed away on March 8, 2003. Frances was a member of First United Methodist Church, UMW, Guild Group and Happy Hour Club. She served as treasurer of the Salem Cemetery Association for 20 years. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Raymond Tucker and Clarence Johnson; and 2 brothers: Ray and Russell Perkins. Frances is survived by her nephew, Gordon Perkins and wife Joan of Red Oak, IA; two great-nieces: Elaine Hollen and husband John of Red Oak, IA; and Denise Leibold and husband Jerry of Clarksville, IA; two great-great-nephews: Andy Rea and wife Trina; and Jamison Leibold and fiancée Alicia; great-great-niece, Kelsey Hollen; and great-great-great niece, Amber Rea; along with cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 10:30 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Fred Pilicki, Officiating Visitation will precede the funeral service on Tuesday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. Family requests memorials in lieu of flowers to First United Methodist Church, Red Oak Services entrusted to Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home
