Obituary

Frank Lee Blay, wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Twin Falls Care Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Although his death was unexpected, his entire family was blessed to have made it to his side, some from long distances, in time to spend his final days with him. Frank was the son of William and Ethel Johnson Blay, born on September 27, 1934 at Atlantic, Iowa. He was the sixth of nine children. Frank was able to bless those who knew him with his love, hard work, faith and loyalty for 77 years, 3 months and 12 days. He entered the U. S. Army on May 15, 1957 and was honorably discharged on May 6, 1959. Frank was united in marriage to Donna Andersen on November 30, 1962 at Red Oak, Iowa. Frank worked for Uniroyal/Parker Hannifin in Red Oak for 26 years until he retired at the age of 64 having never missed a day of work. He was the model by which his children founded their work ethic. At the age of 57, Frank chose to become a baptized member of the First Baptist Church of Red Oak. Frank and Donna chose to relocate to Twin Falls, Idaho in January of 2001 where they were able to share in the day to day lives of their son, Bruce, and his family. He experienced the joy of watching his grandchildren grow, succeed and shine. They were able to spend the last 11 years enjoying the peace and tranquility that came with just a simple car ride together enjoying Idaho's local scenery. He mourned the loss of his infant twin son Brian Lee and thirteen year old son Curtis Frank; father and mother. Frank is survived by his wife, of 49 years, Donna; his son Bruce and his wife Debby and their children, Christopher, Patricia and Erika of Twin Falls, Idaho; his son Scott and his wife Cindy and their son Eli of West Lafayette, Indiana and daughter Beth of Windsor Heights, Iowa. Frank is also survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn. Interment will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa No Visitation or Viewing will be held.
