Gale Haufle, the daughter of Stanley W. and Mary Anna (Godwin) Rattenborg was born November 20, 1953, in Atlantic, Iowa. She passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa, the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 12 days.

Gale was raised in the communities of Atlantic, Shenandoah, Nebraska City and then Stanton, Iowa. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1972 and attended junior college for two years. Gale was united in marriage to William "Bill" Haufle on July 9, 1972. In 1977, they made Red Oak their home. Over the years, Gale worked at Hy-Vee, Pamida as office manager, All About Flowers & Gifts, Confer Chiropractor and Mediacom. She enjoyed reading, making crafts with paper and baking. Gale loved attending her children's activities and being with her grandchildren. She had served on the Red Oak Community School Board and was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. Gale was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Steven Rattenborg.

Gale is survived by her husband, Bill Haufle of Red Oak, Iowa; children: Mary Kort of Red Oak, IA, Matthew Haufle of Manhattan, NY and Mark Haufle of Bellevue, NE; two grandchildren: Mary Jeanette Kort and Deborah Anne Kort; other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held

A private family burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA

In lieu of flowers, Gale's family requests memorials be given to the Red Oak Community School Fine Arts Programs.
