Gladys Maxine Bridges, the daughter of Lloyd and Jessie (Gemmill) Dunn was born February 25, 1924 in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 3 days. Gladys graduated from Red Oak High School in 1940. She lived in Red Oak her entire life, except during WW II when she worked at a defense factory in Ogden, Utah. Gladys was a waitress at the Gold Crown for 15 years and worked at Vista Gardens Care Center as a therapy aide for 9 years. Gladys was united in marriage to Keith Bridges on June 18, 1983 in Red Oak, Iowa. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary in Red Oak. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Larry and Lloyd Orr; two sisters: Ava and Bessie; and brother, Virgil. Gladys is survived by her husband, Keith Bridges of Red Oak, IA; son, Michael Hanscom and wife Patty of Fontanelle, IA; 4 grandchildren: Bob Hanscom, Jeff Hanscom, Brian Orr and wife Cindy and Chris Orr; step-grandson, Trevin Schall; 3 great-grandchildren: Andrew Orr, Courtney Orr and Zachary Orr; and nephew, Jessie Dunn; other relatives and friends. Graveside Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home assisting the family with services.
