Gordon Wayne Arnold, the son of George Wayne and Martha Elizabeth (Carlson) Arnold, was born on September 20, 1943, in Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 18 days. Gordon lived his entire life on the family farm, where he found purpose and pride in rural life. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1961 and went on to serve his country in the Iowa Army National Guard. A dedicated community member, Gordon served as President of the Red Oak Rural Fire Association for 36 years, a role he took to heart. In 2000, he became an honorary fireman with the Red Oak Volunteer Association. Gordon loved music and genealogy, hobbies that connected him to both his past and the present. Gordon was a faithful member of the Stratton Community Church, where he served as a lay speaker. He was also a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents.
Gordon is survived by his sister, Dorothy J. Arnold of Red Oak, IA, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
At Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak
Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa
Visitation with the family will be held Friday evening, July 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to the Stratton Community Church or Red Oak Volunteer Fire Association.
