Grace Marlene Ross, the daughter of Leland and Margaret (Jones) Ross was born December 2, 1952 in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 62 years and 25 days. Grace was raised in the Red Oak area and graduated from Red Oak High School. She attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa and became a substance abuse counselor. Grace lived and worked in Audubon, Iowa from 1987 until 1992. She then moved to Elliott, Iowa and worked in Clarinda, Iowa. In 1999, Grace made her home in Omaha. She loved horses and all animals, along with classic rock music from the 60's, 70's and early 80's. Grace collected teddy bears and angels, loved to play the keyboard, and do embroidering and needle work. She was a fun and loving mother and grandmother. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Charles Edward Ross; grandson. Dylan McClelland-Carlson; and niece, Rickie Hurd. Grace is survived by her three children: Brenda Carlson and Fred Hug of Omaha, NE; Brandon Vandrey and wife Emily of Omaha, NE; and Brian Vandrey and wife Rebekah of Shenandoah, IA; six grandchildren: Zachary Carlson, Bryce Krupka, Wyatt Vandrey, Kristian Vandrey, Asa Vandrey, and Briana Vandrey; one brother, LeRoy Ross and wife Mary of Lutz, FL; three sisters: Rosetta Greenfield of Council Bluffs, IA, Catherine Ross and Ron Conway of Green Valley, AZ, and Patricia Karnish of Bellevue, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
