Gregory Lyle Bergstrom, the son of Lyle and Jeanette (Bradshaw) Bergstrom was born July 16, 1956 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 1 day. Greg was raised in the Griswold area and graduated from Griswold High School in 1974. He furthered his education at Iowa Western Community College. Greg was a self taught auctioneer and conducted auctions mainly in the Griswold and Elliott areas for many years. Greg moved to Red Oak in l993. He enjoyed being around people, helping wherever he could. Greg was a member of the Griswold United Methodist Church. Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Lyle Bergstrom and a brother-in-law, Gerald Rieber. Greg is survived by a son, Brayton Allen and wife Lindsey of Stanton, IA; two grandchildren: Maven Marie Allen and Harper Jean Allen of Stanton, IA; mother, Jeanette Bergstrom of Griswold, IA; brother, Dennis Bergstrom and wife Guyla of Dell City, TX; sisters: Diane Rieber of Macedonia, IA and Glenda Wyman and husband Jim of Griswold, IA; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and a host of friends. Private graveside service will be held at Whipple Cemetery rural Griswold, Iowa Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
