Harold Leroy Sederburg, the son of Lyle and Helen Crowe Sederburg was born September 26, 1941 in Montgomery County, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 27 days. Harold graduated from Essex High School in l958. While in high school, he was involved in sports and was the Homecoming King his senior year. Harold lived on a farm near Stanton most of his life. He farmed many years before he worked as a Vet Tech for Red Oak Veterinary Clinic. Harold also worked many years for sale barns in Red Oak and Stanton. Harold loved sports and had a vast wealth of knowledge about teams and players. He had a contagious laugh and love for animals. Harold was devoted to his parents and helped care for them. His nieces and nephews and their families were an important part of his life. Harold was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lila May Russell; and two nephews: Steve Downing and Rick Sederburg. Harold is survived by his sister, Hilma Downing and husband Richard of Sioux Falls, SD; and brother, Richard Sederburg and wife Janet of Blair, NE; brother-in-law, Paul Russell of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews; along with cousins and other relatives and friends. May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Stanton, IA. Burial in the Mamre Cemetery, Stanton Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli, Officiating Visitation with the family on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Memorial to the Essex High School Renovation Project.
