Obituary

Henrietta Geraldine Hutchings, the daughter of Wilke and Geraldine (Kline) Long was born January 1, 1921 at Omaha, Nebraska. She passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 12 day.
Henrietta lived most of her life in Red Oak and attended Red Oak High School. Henrietta was united in marriage to Elbert "Red" Hutchings on June 26, 1939 at Maryville, Missouri. They operated a small grocery store and an ice cream shop, Pam & Jill Super Freeze. "Red" passed away on March 21, 1974. In 1989, she married Dale W. Jones and enjoyed their time together until he passed away in l994. Henrietta worked at the Montgomery County History Center for many years and enjoyed visiting the Senior Citizens Center. She loved to garden, grow flowers, and study genealogy. Henrietta's family was very important to her and she spent as much time as possible with them. Henrietta was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Sharon Lee; sister, Gloria Kindberg and grandson, Jay Hutchings.
Henrietta is survived by two daughters: Pamela Taylor and husband Darwin of Dunn, NC and Jill  O'Neal and husband John of Red Oak, IA; four grandchildren: Daric O'Neal and wife Jill of Red Oak, IA, Alisa O'Neal and husband Dean Woodcook of Omaha, NE, Taunya Taylor and companion David Hill of Portsmouth, VA, and Terri Reichert and husband Tim of Angier, NC; great-grandchildren: Lennon, Jocelyn and Ellie O'Neal of Red Oak, IA, Tessa and Hutchings Reumann of Omaha, NE, Michelle McDonald of Fayetteville, NC, and Jonathan Reichert and fiancé Samantha of Angier, NC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn.
A private family service will be held with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
