Ivetta Florence Peebles, the daughter of George and Beatrice (Starrett) Wallingford was born June 26, 1926 at Silver City, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 11 days. Ivetta was raised in the Silver City area, before the family moved to Coburg. She graduated from Coburg High School and attended college to receive her teaching certificate and then taught at Coburg schools. Ivetta was united in marriage to Dr. Paul Peebles on January 19, 1980 in Red Oak. She worked with Paul in the chiropractic office for many years. Ivetta enjoyed gardening and baking. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Paul Peebles on April 28, 2002; son, Merritt Olney; daughter, Verna Salisbury; two sisters and a brother. Ivetta is survived by two daughters: Beverly Karns and husband James of Red Oak, IA and Carolyn Wallingford and husband Virgil of Ashland, NE; step-son, Randy Peebles of Council Bluffs, IA; 4 grandchildren: Kelly, Cody, Jason and Shayla; 6 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. No public services will be held. Private family burial will take place at the Pleasant Township Cemetery, Griswold, IA. Memorials may be direct to the family in Ivetta's name. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
