Janet Sue Bissell, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Huddleson) Hazen was born September 29, 1944 in Creston, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Red Oak Healthcare Community of Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 17 days.
Janet was raised and attended school in Creston, Iowa. After school, Janet lived in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Florida, before settling in the Red Oak and Emerson, Iowa area. She was united in marriage to Bruce Bissell and later Jay Morrison. Janet loved to bake, do yard work, garden and play bridge. Janet was a member of Hope For Life Church in Red Oak, and for many years was a greeter for the Red Oak Welcome Wagon. Janet loved being a grandma and had a special connection with each one of her grandchildren. She had a keen sense of humor and was a "character" in every fashion of the word. She loved to have fun with her family and friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Earl Hazen, Donnie Hazen, Shirley Doan, Levinne Badgerow, Lavonne Oshel, and Dorothy Jones; and great granddaughters: Gracie and Destiny.
Janet is survived by two sons: Lonnie Bissell of Omaha, NE; and Dallas Morrison and special friend, Jessica of Red Oak, IA; two daughters: Patty (Randy) Meek of Red Oak, IA, Sandra (Rick) Kimpson of Emerson, IA; special daughter: Carol Hazen; 13 grandchildren: Phoenix Alexander, Wade, Cheyenne and Cole Meek, Amber and Crystal Bissell, Desiree Ladd, Jennifer Dukes, Michelle Petereit, Janet Stone, Marin Morrison, Mylee and Bella Echternach; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Hazen of Missouri Valley, IA; and sister: Bernice Arey of Highland Ranch, CO; other relatives and friends.
