Jean Akers, the daughter of Lennie and Flora Schwartz Gray was born June 10, 1938 in Randolph, Iowa. She died suddenly on Friday, September 19, 2008 at her home in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 9 days. Jean was raised in Shenandoah, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Floyd Williams in Shenandoah. She later married Cecil W. Akers on May 26, 1967 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. In 1970, they made their home in Red Oak, Iowa. Jean enjoyed finding deals at garage sales and spending time with friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Vickie; and husband: Cecil Akers on April 7, 1994. Jean is survived by her sister: Bonnell Hanrahan of Osceola, IA; brother: Lenney Gray of Villisca, IA; step-children: Rick Akers of Shenandoah, IA; Tom Akers and wife Sue of Council Bluffs, IA; Steve Akers and wife Sherry of Red Oak, IA; Linda Mitchell and husband Don of Phoenix, AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
