Jean Marie Johnson, the daughter of Andrew Z. and Donna (Johnson) Chapman was born April 28, 1951 at Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away suddenly at her home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 30 days.
Jean was raised in Red Oak and graduated from Red Oak High School. She was united in marriage to Dennis Johnson and to this union a son, Jammie was born. Jean loved to read and was an avid Scrabble player, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. For many years, Jean attended the Assembly of God Church in Red Oak. Jean was very proud of her son, Jammie and cherished her grandchildren dearly.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Michael, Andrew C. and William Chapman.
Jean is survived by her son, Jammie Johnson and his wife Jennifer of Council Bluffs, IA; two grandchildren: Angel and Jannessa; three brothers: Warren Chapman and his wife Donna of Council Bluffs, IA, Kenneth Chapman of Shenandoah, IA and James Chapman of Davenport, IA; two sisters: LuAnn Nease and husband Rick of Red Oak, IA and Mary Lanning and husband Richard of Wymore, NE; and step-mother, Mary Chapman of Red Oak, IA; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA
Visitation with the family present on Sunday afternoon, May 1 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
A memorial is being established in Jean's name.
