Jean Marie Lofgren, the daughter of Carl and Vernice (Youngberg) Lantz was born February 12, 1932 in Montgomery County, Iowa near Stanton. She passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Stanton Care Center, Stanton, Iowa at the age of 84 years and 4 months.
Jean was raised on a farm near Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1950. Jean was united in marriage to Robert Lofgren on February 22, 1954 at Stanton. They first lived in Adams County, Iowa before moving to their farm northeast of Red Oak in l967. She was a farm wife and helped on the farm, along with working many years for Union Carbide Battery Company in Red Oak. Jean enjoyed gardening and attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events. She was a hard worker, yet was always willing to help others. Jean was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Red Oak.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carol Lantz and two sisters: Dorothy Carbaugh and Marjorie Erickson.
Jean is survived by her husband, Robert Lofgren of Red Oak, IA; children: Terri Townsend and husband Steve of Colfax, IA; and Roger Lofgren of Red Oak, IA; two grandchildren: Travis Townsend of Monroe, IA; and Stacie Daniels and husband Shane of Colfax, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home
