Schomburg-Gourley
June 25, 1955 – May 28, 2022
Jeannine Marie Schomburg-Gourley, the daughter of Melvin and Mary Jeanne (Tanner) Genie was born June 25, 1955, at Mountain Home, Idaho. She passed away suddenly in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, May 28, 2022, in Montgomery County, Iowa, at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 3 days.
Jeannine was raised as a military child and lived all over the United States, France and Japan. She graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jeannine was united in marriage to David Mayer in 1975, where they lived and worked in Fremont, Nebraska. Jeannine later married Jimmy Schomburg in 1982 and they lived in the Stanton, Iowa, area. On June 12, 1998, Jeannine married Wendell Gourley at Viking Lake and they made their home in Stanton. Over the years, Jeannine worked for Lister Propane, Black Propane, Hy-Vee, Hayes Accounting and for many years, Belt Auto Center. Jeannine enjoyed quilting, sewing, growing flowers, motorcycle riding with Wendell, traveling, and her favorite color was purple. Jeannine loved her children and grandchildren so much; they were so important to her. She was looking forward to her first great-grandchild who is to be born close to her birthday.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Genie.
Jeannine is survived by her husband, Wendell Gourley of Stanton, IA; two children: Jason (Jayme) Schomburg of Dubuque, IA and Jessica (Scott) Donahoo of Elliott, IA; three step-children: Jeremy (Alexia) Gourley of Dover, TN, Ryan Gourley of Cincinnati, OH and Tiffany (Marc) Behrens of Omaha, NE; 19 grandchildren: Helena and Serentiy Kruse; Cora, Aurora, Adaline and Evalyn Donahoo; Ethan and Molly Schomburg; Brianne and Brooklyn Hulgan; Isabella and William Schomburg; Korbyn Behrens and Christina Cardoza; Dekyan, Easton and Kambrya Behrens; Nate Borgman; and Brennon, Logan and Aleah Gourley; and three sisters: Dona Stausbaugh and Carl Murphy of Caldwell, ID, Cathy (George) Green of San Antonio, TX and Michele Arnold of Villisca, IA; other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held
Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
At Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak, Iowa
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
