Obituary

John Franklin Burke, the son of Ervin and Linnea C. (Falk) Burke was born July 15, 1946 in Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 27 days.

John was raised on a farm in the Wallin area and attended Stanton Schools. He enjoyed the farm life, helping with livestock and his many pets. John was a client with Nishna Productions for 39 years and was employed with Pizza Hut in Red Oak. John loved attending the Montgomery County Fair, fishing at Viking Lake and listening to patriotic songs. He also loved family picnics, and John's birthday was celebrated as a family holiday each year. He was an active member of the Tabor Lutheran Church at Wallin where he served as an usher for many years, and a member of Red Oak Lions Club. John became a resident of Red Oak Good Samaritan Society in 2011. He especially enjoyed when the Merc Coffee Club visited and singing along with the Warblers.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Burke.

John is survived by his sister, Janice Kinser and husband Robert of Stanton, IA; three brothers: Dean Burke and wife Joanie of Stanton, IA, Clair Burke of Stanton, IA and Dennis Burke and wife Jennifer of Stanton, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held
Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
At Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home
Rev. Ricky Rohrig Sr., Officiating

Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later time at Mamre Cemetery, Stanton, IA

Visitation and viewing with the family present on Saturday, July 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home
