Judy Ann Sandin, the daughter of Howard and Margie (Wilmont) Blecher was born December 31, 1941, at Newman Grove, Nebraska. She passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 6 days.
Judy was raised in Newman Grove and graduated from Newman Grove High School in l958. She attended Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska, for one year and returned to Newman Grove to teach in a one room school. Judy taught there for two years and then moved to Columbus, Nebraska, where she taught kindergarten. After two years, Judy furthered her education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She graduated in January of 1967, and accepted a teaching job in Grand Island, Nebraska. In 1967, she moved to Red Oak to teach kindergarten and then Title I reading. While in Red Oak, Judy met the love of her life, Jerry Sandin. On June 8, 1968, Judy and Jerry were united in marriage in Newman Gove. They soon made their home on a farm north of Stanton, Iowa. Judy's career finished as a fifth-grade teacher and retired in 2005 but continued to substitute teach. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting, her garden with all her flowers, playing bridge, traveling and photography. She and Jerry made many trips south to spend winters in Texas. Judy loved her family, children and grandchildren dearly and attending and supporting all their activities. She was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jerry on July 4, 2012.
Judy is survived by three children: Jason (Trevi) Sandin of Bondurant, IA, Jeff (Michelle) Sandin of Stanton, IA and Jalene (Amy) Sandin-Sivadge of Fontanelle, IA; 7 grandchildren: Christine (Beau) Williams, Brinley and Brody Sandin, Allie and Leah Sandin, Ashlyn and Taryn Gutierrez; brother, Roger (Judy) Blecher of Lake Oswego, OR; other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held
Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.
At Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Stanton, Iowa
Burial in Mamre Cemetery, Stanton, Iowa
Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli, Officiating
Lunch will follow the service at the church.
Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday morning at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m.
A memorial is being established in Judy's name.
The service will be live streamed on Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Facebook page.
