Briggs
November 10, 1944 – February 22, 2019
Ann June Briggs, the daughter of Raymond and Cleo "Becky" (Berry) Briggs was born November 10, 1944 at Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 12 days.
June lived most of her life in Red Oak. She was united in marriage to Douglas Breedlove in 1964, and to this union two sons were born, Kevin and Jeffrey. June later married John Gross in 1975, and to this union two sons were born, John II and Tommy. Over her career, June worked at Skyway Café, Union Carbide Battery Company and My Place. She worked for many years at the Rainbow Café and for a short time at Red Lion, Tap and JD Café. June loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their activities and family events. She really was a person who just plain loved kids, no matter what. After retiring, June spent many hours volunteering at the Montgomery County Animal Rescue and Shelter helping walk the dogs and doing any jobs needed. She loved being involved with and was a big supporter of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Montgomery County each year.
June was preceded in death by her parents; special step-father, Clarence Berg; infant son, Tommy; four brothers; her twin sister, Alice Jane Briggs; and two other sisters.
June is survived by three sons: Kevin (Ruth) Breedlove of Tekamah, NE, Jeffrey (Wendi) Breedlove of Carroll, IA and John Gross II and fiancé Lisa Thompson of Red Oak, IA; six grandchildren: Kristopher (Mary) Breedlove, Andrew (Rachel) Breedlove, Randy Breedlove, Bryan (Britni) Gross, Vincent Breedlove and Vanessa Breedlove; four great-grandchildren: Rylee Reich, Lucas Gross, Olivia Breedlove and Hazel Breedlove; and sister, Doris Shaver of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn.
